Genesis 1:26-27 “Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." 27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”
We have been created in the image and likeness of God!!! You are significant. You have been created with a purpose and God has an amazing plan for your life. When you know where you come from, it helps you understand where you are going, and that helps you understand why you are here. We come from God, we’re going to God, and we’re here with and for God!
It is so easy to get caught up in the lies of the enemy. Lies like "You are worth more if you're thin," "You are worth more if you are healthy," and "You are worth more if you are smart." Listening to these lies will distort our focus on God’s amazing plan for our lives.
You have been created beautiful with dignity, value, and worth!
We do not get our dignity, value, and worth by our performance, but simply by creation, by virtue of being image bearers made by God! Here are some verses that you can always refer to when you are struggling with worth. When you find yourself in that place, go straight to the spoken infallible Word of God.
Eph 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works...
Eph 3:9 …God who created all things through Jesus Christ;
Eph 4:24 …put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Col 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible...All things were created through Him and for Him.
Col 3:10 …put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,
Isa 43:7 Everyone who is called by My name, Whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him.
Re 4:11 …For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.
